September Sale on Flights

09.11.2007 | 7:59 pm | Flight Comparison

Now that the main holiday season is over, airlines have come up with special offers and discounts to tempt people onto their flights. Once such airline is British Airways,  who have a set of World Offers if you book by 25 September. You even get a £10 discount off long-haul flights and 15% of hotels and car hire simply for registering with the BA website and logging in.

The offers not only apply to flights but also to hotel bookings and car hire too, meaning that you can have a late holiday at reasonable prices. Although the bookings need to be made in September, travel may be for a later period (e.g. November or December) and is dependent upon the route, individual offer and availability, so it is best to take advantage of the offers quickly.

The fare prices  are based on the lowest priced economy return flights offered by British Airways or its partners, e.g. Quantas Airways Limited. However,  the prices for European flights or those within the UK are one-way. The flights are usually in the World Traveller part of the cabin. Although the prices include taxes or charges, a transaction fee does need to be paid - £30 for European of domestic flights and £50 for worldwide flights. There are a number of terms and conditions associated with the flights, such as long haul bookings requiring travel on a Saturday and full details are given on the BA website. There is also a useful add-on from Google Earth which allows you  to examine the offers on a map and also research the destinations, identify the nearest restaurants and bars and the closes beach!

If you take the hidden costs into account, together with the period in which travel should take place, the offers are still attractive and you can obtain, for example a flight from Heathrow to Hong Kong for £389 (return) and hotels starting at £15 per person per night.
